"When David Turned into Goliath" is a monumental mural by the world-renowned German artist duo Herakut. Spanning across two massive walls of a residential building near Teufelsberg, this artwork brilliantly utilizes the building's immense scale to tell a story of empowerment and transformation. The composition features a young, innocent-looking girl with a dark ponytail, yet the traditional "David" figure is subverted: she wears boxing gloves and gazes at the viewer with an appraising, almost defiant look. On the left wall, she is already many times larger than a human; on the right, her face alone becomes truly gigantic, shifting her presence from sweet to potentially threatening. The mural serves as a powerful metaphor for how the small and seemingly vulnerable can grow to possess overwhelming strength. Akut’s piece turns the looming architecture into a canvas that challenges the viewer's perception of power and scale.
